The Great Pipe Organ stands 36 feet tall, weighing 28 tons, and comprises 6,138 pipes catering to the musical elegance and sentimental attachment to Austrian history. The coin also features the country of issue, inscribed as “REPUBLIK OSTERREICH,” meaning the Republic of Austria, “1 UNZE GOLD 999.9”, “2024,” and “1.50 EURO” showing the purity, year of issue, and face value, respectively.

Thomas Pesendorfer also designs the reverse side that features a detailed and shimmering design of the various classic musical instruments. The cello takes center stage, with two violins supporting it on each side and other orchestral musical instruments like bassoon, harp, and the French horn, displayed in a sequence that seemingly replicates the actual formation of the Musikverein orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic. Other inscriptions on the reverse include “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.”
