The Coat of Arms displays a Mexican (Golden) eagle with its talons and beak clinched to a rattlesnake on a cactus that seems to be in the water. This coat of arms displays the war between both with the inscriptions of “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS,” which means “THE UNITED STATES MEXICO.”

Liberty holds a wreath in one hand and a three-linked broken chain in the other, displaying the struggle and triumphant victory of Mexico over Spain. The three-linked broken chain depicts freedom from political, social, and economic dependence. The volcanoes in the background, traces back the Aztec tales of two star-crossed lovers, turned into mountains by God so that they can stay together. Other inscriptions on the coin read, “1 ONZA”, “PLATA PURA” (Pure Silver), and “2022 LEY .999”.
